SESAC Congratulates Songwriters Hall of Fame Inductee Teddy Riley

SESAC is honored to congratulate Teddy Riley on his recent induction to the Songwriters Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Riley was inducted on June 15 alongside Jeff Lynne, Gloria Estefan, Liz Rose, and Glen Ballard. Tim Rice received the Johnny Mercer Award, and Post Malone was honored with the Hal David Starlight Award. Additionally, SESAC affiliates Madame Gandhi and Heather LaRose were among the recipients of the Abe Olman scholarship. 

Teddy Riley is a GRAMMY-Award winning, multi-platinum songwriter and producer credited with the creation of New Jack Swing, a genre whose influence has permeated musical categories including contemporary, R&B, hip-hop, gospel, soul, and pop. Riley has composed, written, and/or produced Billboard chart-topping hits for Johnny Kemp, Janet Jackson, Mary J. Blige, Whitney Houston, MC Hammer, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Boys II Men, Lady Gaga, and many more. At 23, he produced Michael Jackson’s Dangerous LP, which sold more than 32 million copies worldwide.
