The 22nd Annual Latin GRAMMYs® returned to Las Vegas with a roaring crowd celebrating the Latin GRAMMY® Winners on November 18th after temporarily hosting the show from Miami in 2020 with no live audience and remote performances due to COVID-19 protocols. This year’s show was once again telecast live by Univisión.
Christian Nodal added another trophy to his growing collection, winning Best Regional Song for “Aquí Abajo” from his Latin GRAMMY-nominated album, ¡AYAYAY! Gussy Lau, who co-wrote this song with Nodal, also took home a trophy. Affiliates Rafa Arcaute and Federico Vindver also won in the category of Best Engineering Album for El Madrileño, recorded by C. Tangana.
There were several epic performances overnight, including Christina Aguilera’s rendition of her new single “Somos Nada,” co-written by affiliates Sharlene Taule and Federico Vindver, and produced by Vindver and Rafa Arcaute. Mike Tower performed his single “Tin Tin,” co-written by affiliates Orlando Cepeda Matos and Sharon Ramirez Lopez. Calibre 50 performed “A La Antigüita,” written by Edén Muñoz, from their nominated album Vamos Bien, and “Esta Vida Es Muy Bonita” with Banda El Recodo, co-written by affiliates Alex Hernandez and Ruben Esli. Angela Aguilar performed at the awards and performed “Ligia Elena” the night before at the Person of the Year celebration to honor Ruben Blades.
