At the end of the week, BBC Radio 1 will announce the number one song on the Christmas chart. SESAC affiliate Chris Simmons is a contender for the highly coveted number one spot with his single “A Cold December,” which would make him the first ever unsigned artist to achieve a number one during the festive period.
The song, released ahead of National Grief Awareness Week, is a heartfelt ode to those who have been bereaved and experience grief, especially around the holiday season. As a new ambassador for bereavement charity AtaLoss, a portion of the proceeds for the song will be donated to the charity. Read more on Chris’s journey here.
