Los Angeles, Calif. (Sept. 19, 2018) – SESAC Latina affiliates Nicky Jam and Christian Nodal were among the notable nominees for the 2018 Latin American Music Awards, announced yesterday morning on Telemundo’s Un Nuevo Día. The fourth annual Latin American Music Awards will air Thursday, Oct. 25, on Telemundo.
This year, the pioneering urban artist Nicky Jam, who also has two appearances as a featured artist on nominated tracks, leads the way with eight nominations, along with young “mariacheño” sensation Christian Nodal with five nominations.
Also for the second consecutive year, Regional Mexican powerhouse Calibre 50, led by SESAC Latina affiliate Edén Muñoz, earned three nominations, while Mexican pop trio Reik has one nomination. In addition, the teenage Colombian urban singer and songwriter Manuel Turizo garnered his very first nomination.
Nominees are based on Billboard sales, airplay and streaming data from the United States and Puerto Rico, with the winners to be selected by online voting, which is open now. Click here to support the artists of SESAC Latina.
