SESAC Signs Emmy and Grammy-Nominated Composer David Schwartz

Emmy and Grammy-nominated composer David Schwartz, known for hit shows such as The Good Place and Arrested Development, has signed with SESAC Performing Rights for representation, it was announced today. 

“We are thrilled to welcome David to the SESAC family,” said Erin Collins, VP Film, Television and Developing Media at SESAC PRO. “His iconic scores and career accomplishments are a wonderful addition to our roster, and we’re excited for our future endeavors.” 

Most recently, Schwartz scored director Amy Poehler’s documentary debut, Lucy and Desi, which premiered at Sundance Film Festival and garnered him an Emmy nomination for “Outstanding Music Composition for a Documentary Series or Special”; as well as season two of Peacock’s comedy series Rutherford Falls, which Schwartz co-composes with Indigenous hip-hop band Halluci Nation.

His compositions for HBO’s Deadwood and CBS’s Wolf Lake were both Emmy-nominated in the category “Outstanding Main Title Theme Music” while his work on Arrested Development received a nomination in the category “Outstanding Music Composition for a Series”. He received a Grammy nomination in the category “Best Instrumental Composition” for the main theme of Northern Exposure.

Schwartz’s additional credits include Fox’s Almost Family, CW’s Reaper, indie film Standing Up, Falling Down, and many more.
