Nashville Makes it’s Mark in London

(London, UK – 23 February 2023) – Nashville Headquartered Performing Rights Organisation SESAC and VEVA Collect partnered in London, UK for the first writer camp at the new Tileyard TYX studios. The writer camp took place from February 14th-16th, culminating in an industry listening session at Tileyard’s TYX’s Dolby Atomos studio with managers and music publishers. Hosted by UK based independent label KAR Records founder and former The Voice contestant Kit Rice, the writer camp had over 30 writers attend from across the UK nominated by SESAC and KAR who were given access to briefs by UK based Fairwood Music. The music file-sharing and credits platform VEVA Collect partnered with SESAC to sponsor the camp. Writers and producers were given access to the VEVA Collect platform and the listening party utilised VEVA’s playlist feature to playback songs that were delivered during the week.

SESAC Vice President, UK & International Creative Serices, John Sweeney said “The writers camp provided an excellent opportunity for our writers to collaborate with other creators on a number of live briefs for major artists. Our affiliates were also given access to the VEVA platform so they could ensure that data was recorded as new songs were created to ensure that all meta data was recorded to ensure the accurate distribution of royalties.”

VEVA Business Development & Industry Relations, Liam McMellon said, “We saw over 20 songs delivered across the week which is a testimony to the quality of the writers and producers that were in attendance and the hard work they put in to deliver the songs for the listening session. It was fantastic to see writers and producers adopt VEVA Collect to deliver the songs and collect their metadata for the songs in one place.”

Host of the writing camp and KAR Records founder, Kit Rice added, “What an incredible week of writing. Everyone really gave it their all. The TYX studios are state of the art & with that every demo sounded incredible. Thank you to VEVA Collect and SESAC for helping to pull this project together and to Fairwood Music for their support.”
