Senior Director
Lydia Schultz Cahill serves as Senior Director of Creative Services at SESAC Performing Rights, a subsidiary of SESAC Music Group, overseeing the Country genre in Nashville, where she is responsible for providing support and guidance to existing songwriter and publisher affiliates as well as recruiting and signing new talent.
In the last few years, Schultz Cahill has worked closely with affiliates Blanco Brown, Matt McGinn, Pillbox Patti, Erin Enderlin, Niko Moon, and Jenny Tolman, among many others. She is also instrumental in the production and curation of SESAC-sponsored songwriter events to include Tin Pan South, the monthly SESAC Presents at the Bluebird, CMA Showcases, as well as songwriter events in the southeast region.
Prior to joining SESAC in 2016, Schultz worked as Creative Director at Magic Mustang Music, where she worked with hit songwriters Steve Bogard, Kristian Bush, Rob Hatch and Justin Lantz. Before that, she worked in the Legal and Finance Department at Broken Bow Records. Schultz Cahill began her career as an assistant to GRAMMY Award-winning songwriter JD Souther.
Schultz Cahill is a member of the Association of Independent Music Publishers (Nashville chapter), the Country Music Association, the Academy of Country Music, and The Recording Academy. As a gifted songwriter advocate, she has a strong passion for nurturing young artists in the GRAMMY U Mentorship program. A Wisconsin native, Schultz graduated from Belmont University with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from its Music Business program.
