HALLOWEEN DEADLINE FOR NSAI SONG CONTEST PRESENTED BY CMT
Grand Prize includes mentoring session with Grammy-winning recording artist Charlie Daniels
Nashville, Tennessee – With time running out on the Halloween deadline, October 31, 2011, the Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) is encouraging songwriters to submit their best tunes to the NSAI Song Contest Presented by CMT. The contest boasts unparalleled career-building industry relationships designed to help unsigned songwriters navigate the road to becoming professional hitmakers. The Grand Prize Winner will receive an exclusive mentoring session with songwriter/musician/industry icon Charlie Daniels!
In addition to One Grand Prize Winner, one CMT Listeners' Choice Winner, and one Lyric-Only winner, prizes will include a single-song professional demo, tickets to the 2012 CMT Music Awards in Nashville, a private tour of CMT studios, a performance at The Bluebird Café, meetings with major music publishers and a one-year membership to NSAI, just to name a few. Nashville pro writers, publishers and industry professionals will narrow down the finalists over three rounds of judging and select the Grand Prize Winner, Lyric only winner, 10 Runners-Up and 10 Honorable Mentions before the Top 10 (excluding the Grand Prize Winner) are posted on nsai.cmt.com. Fans can vote online for their favorite song starting February 1 through February 28, 2012. The CMT Listeners’ Choice Winner will be chosen immediately following the online voting.
Among the previous Grand Prize winners are Tracy Naples (2002 - label development deal with DreamWorks), Jesse Terry (2003 - publishing deal with MASville Music), Zane Williams (2005 - publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music), Charlie Worsham (2006 - his band, KingBilly, is signed to a publishing/recording deal with Chrysalis Music) and Diana Kelley (2007 - her winning song was signed to Wood Newton Music). Our 2010 winner, Doug Lowe, has songs on hold with established artists. This could be your year!
All genres of music are encouraged. The entry fees are $35.00 (Current NSAI Members) and $45.00 (Non Members) per song submitted.
