SESAC Affiliates Stand Out as Finalists at the

25th Annual Billboard Latin Music Awards

For the 25th year, Billboard magazine will pay tribute to the highest-charting artists, labels, songwriters and publishers on its Latin-music charts. This silver-anniversary edition of Billboard Latin Music Awards will take place at 8 p.m. ET, April 26, and be telecast live on Telemundo from Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

In an incredible alignment with this 25-year celebration, SESAC Latina affiliates are finalists in 25 categories of the prestigious event. Leading the way is the Panamanian songwriter Erika Ender, who is a finalist in seven categories on the strength of her global juggernaut "Despacito," which she co-wrote with lead artist Luis Fonsi, featuring performances by Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber.

Also turning heads with five nominations each are the Regional Mexican foursome Calibre 50, led by SESAC singer-songwriter Edén Muñoz; the Regional Mexican rising star Christian Nodal, whose "Adiós Amor" became the closing-time anthem of 2017; and the urban-music pioneer Nicky Jam.

Nicky Jam's team also made finalist status at the Billboard Latin Music Awards, with his longtime collaborator Saga WhiteBlack nominated for Producer of the Year, and imprint La Industria, Inc., being named as a finalist in two industry categories. Last August, La Industria, Inc., and SESAC Latina teamed up to offer aspiring songwriters in Medellín, Colombia, a daylong seminar on the music business.

The winners of Billboard Latin Music Awards are determined by Billboard chart performance over the past year, which takes airplay, sales and streaming into account. SESAC congratulates its finalists and will be rooting them on to victory on April 26 For a full list of the nominees, visit billboard.com.
