SESAC’s Erika Ender Continues to Reign Hot 100 Chart
SESAC Latina-affiliated songwriter Erika Ender has reached new heights with the unparalleled, history-making song “Despacito.” The song, co-written and performed by Luis Fonsi, featuring Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber, continues to top the chart as the longest-reigning predominately non-English language #1, in the 59-year history of Billboard’s flagship Hot 100 Chart, at 15 weeks and counting for the week ending Sept. 2, 2017.
“Despacito,” is also in its record-breaking 16th week at #1 on the Digital Song chart, and has a record-breaking 15th week at #1 on Streaming Songs.
Its chart-topping run on Hot Latin Songs, the first genre to embrace this unforgettable, danceable gem, is now up to 29 weeks. On YouTube/VEVO, the official video alone has surpassed 3.3 billion views, making it the most-viewed video in the 11-year history of this ubiquitous platform.
In addition, Ender will be inducted into the Latin Songwriters Hall of Fame Oct. 19, 2017, at a gala ceremony in Miami.
