Christophe Beck to Score High Profile Movies
SESAC’s award-winning composer, Christophe Beck, is busy creating scores for some upcoming high profile projects. Beck is reteaming with director Doug Liman on the upcoming thriller Mena starring Tom Cruise. The movie follows a TWA pilot recruited by the CIA to provide reconnaissance on the burgeoning communist threat in Central America in the 1980s who finds himself in charge of one of the biggest covert CIA operations. Gary Spinelli (Stash House) has written the screenplay. Brian Grazer (A Beautiful Mind, 24, Apollo 13, Empire) is producing the project for Imagine Entertainment, alongside Brian Oliver & Tyler Thompson (Black Swan, Rush, Black Mass) for Cross Creek Pictures and Doug Davidson (The Strangers, The Lake House) for Quadrant Pictures. Beck previously scored Liman’s last feature Edge of Tomorrow.
In addition to his work on Mena, Beck is also collaborating with his brother, Chilly Gonzales, on the upcoming thriller, An Ordinary Man. The film is written and directed by Brad Silberling (Casper, A Series of Unfortunate Events, Land of the Lost) and stars Ben Kingsley, Peter Serafinowicz and Hera Hilmar. The movie follows a war criminal in hiding who begins to form a relationship with his only connection to the outside world, his maid. No release date has been announced on the film.
Beck is one of the industry’s most successful and celebrated composers. His resume boasts such blockbuster movies as Frozen, The Hangover, The Muppets and Pitch Perfect among many others.
