SESAC Honors Music Greats at 9th Annual Jazz Awards Luncheon

Geri Allen’s Grand River Crossings: Motown & Motor City Inspirations, Ben Allison’s The Stars Look Very Different Today and Robert Glasper’s Black Radio 2 were among the critically-acclaimed releases recognized during the SESAC Jazz Luncheon.

SESAC's Trevor Gale, Steve Coleman, Robert Glasper and SESAC's Linda Lorence Critelli

“Our SESAC jazz artists and writers are the most talented in the entire world of jazz,” says Linda Lorence Critelli, Vice President, Writer/Publisher Relations. “I am always extremely proud of the music our affiliates make and this year is no exception when it comes to stellar projects from our affiliates.”

In addition to recognizing top albums, the event also featured performances from revered jazz drummer Otis Brown III, as well as from jazz pianist and composer Helen Sung, whose Anthem For A New Day received an award.  Lauren Kinhan of the renowned New York Voices also delivered a breathtaking performance.

The genre’s top artists, songwriters and publishers were among those attending the event, which was hosted by Critelli and Trevor Gale, Senior Vice President, Writer/Publisher.
