The 2013 NSAI Song Contest Presented by CMT Now Open!

Nashville, Tennessee – August 1, 2013 – The Nashville Songwriters Association International (NSAI) and Country Music Television (CMT) are excited to announce theww.nsai.cmt.com/" target="_blank">2013 NSAI Song Contest Presented by CMT. Connections and the opportunity to develop long lasting relationships with industry professionals are what set the song contest apart from all others.

Charlie Worsham, 2006 Grand Prize Winner and Warner Music Nashville Recording artist, says, “As a contest winner, I was introduced to people in the business whose relationships I still cherish today.”
Andy Timmons, 2011 Grand Prize Winner, expresses “The NSAI Song Contest Presented by CMT helped me land several solid relationships with top publishers on Music Row. I’ve been able to open doors that were once not even within my reach.”

Past winners understand this contest is a powerful vehicle to get “discovered” and have found success in multiple areas of the music business, including signing a record deal, an artist development deal, and securing music publishing deals. NSAI is proud to report that Bill DiLuigi, last year’s Grand Prize winner, signed a publishing deal with Rhyme Partners after the contest.

Prizes will be awarded to one (1) Grand Prize Winner, one (1) CMT Listeners’ Choice Award Winner, one (1) Lyric-Only Winner, ten (10) Runners-Up, and ten (10) Honorable Mentions. The Grand Prize Winner, CMT Listeners’ Choice Award Winner, and Lyric-Only winner will all receive a full year of Industry Access and National and Regional Media exposure. The Grand Prize Winner will also receive one-hour mentoring sessions with both singer/songwriter Brett James and singer/songwriter/actor and executive Paul Williams. Prizes include: meetings with professional music publishers, an A&R meeting with one major record label, performance opportunities at the 2014 Tin Pan South Songwriters Festival and at The Bluebird Cafe, a three-day trip to Nashville, Tennessee, a one (1) year NSAI membership, and much, much more. All entrants will receive a personalized judging report.

Submissions for the NSAI Song Contest presented by CMT will be accepted from August 1, 2013 until October 31, 2013. All submissions must be postmarked by October 31, 2013. The contest is open to all genres. Entries can be submitted via mail to NSAI (printable entry form can be found at nsai.cmt.com) or online at sonicbids.com/NSAICMTSongContest. Entry fees are $35 per song for current NSAI members and $45 per song for non-NSAI members. Entrants may submit as many songs as they wish.
