SESAC Congratulates our 2013 GRAMMY Winners!

Congratulations to Mumford & Sons (PRS) and Robert Glasper on their GRAMMY wins!

It was a night of incredible music and celebration for many SESAC affiliates at the “55th Annual GRAMMY Awards” held at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Mumford & Sons were the big winner of the night taking home Album of the Year honors for their highly acclaimed album, Babel. The group also delivered one of the evening’s most dynamic performances when they joined forces with Sir Elton John, Mavis Staples, Zac Brown and Alabama Shakes in a riveting version of “The Weight” in an all-star tribute to the late Levon Helm of legendary group, The Band. Mumford & Sons also were victorious in the category of Best Long Form Music Video for Big Easy Express.

Music virtuoso Robert Glasper was the winner in the category of Best R&B Album for his landmark Black Radio album on Blue Note Records. The album features Glasper collaborating with an eclectic and impressive gathering of artists including Erykah Badu, Bilal, Lupe Fiasco, Lalah Hathaway, Shafiq Husayn (Sa-Ra), KING, Ledisi, Chrisette Michele, Musiq Soulchild, Meshell Ndegeocello and Stokley Williams (Mint Condition).

SESAC singer/musician/songwriter/producer PJ Morton also made an appearance on the awards as he performed with Maroon 5 in their collaboration with Alicia Keys on their respective hits “Daylight” and “Girl On Fire”.
