Full Sail University Hosts SESAC S.W.I.T.C.H Event On Campus

WINTER PARK, FL, January 31, 2012 – On Saturday, January 28, 2012, Full Sail University was proud to host SESAC’s annual S.W.I.T.C.H (SESAC Writers Interacting To Create Hits) event. This innovative musical concept merged established Atlanta and Florida based songwriters with students from Full Sail University to create new and boundary-defying music.

During the event, 50 SESAC affiliates from Atlanta and Miami joined 150 Full Sail University students to experience music critique listening sessions, one-on-one professional collaboration opportunities and a guest speaker panel featuring industry professionals: Erika Ender, Songwriter, Performer and Idol Puerto Rico Judge; Kendrick Dean, GRAMMY-nominated Producer / Composer; and Atom Troy, Course Director of Songwriting and Development for Full Sail University.

“SESAC was thrilled to take part in this S.W.I.T.C.H event with Full Sail University,” said Albert Ramirez III, Associate Director, SESAC Latina. “The day was a great experience for both SESAC’s talented affiliates as well as for the Full Sail students. SESAC S.W.I.T.C.H was created to broaden creativity and foster growth among different musical genres and the event with the students of Full Sail University certainly fulfilled that vision.”

As part of the experience, SESAC members were given tours of the campus facilities and participated in interviews that were filmed for future use for Full Sail courses. The interviews were followed by a panel discussion held in the Full Sail Live 1 facility, which included a Q&A session for current students of the university.

“It was an honor to host the SESAC S.W.I.T.C.H event here on our campus,” said Dana Roun, Director of Audio Programs, Full Sail University. “We take great pride in providing our students with real industry experience during their time with us, and this has been a wonderful example of students gaining feedback from professionals in the music and entertainment field.”
