SCL NY Seminar on "INSIDER'S GUIDE TO LIVE RECORDING" with GARY MAURER of Saltlands Studio, along with CHRIS ALLEN of Sear Sound.  Moderated by GREG PLISKA. At the studios of Sear Sound, NYC.

THE SOCIETY OF COMPOSERS & LYRICISTS  IN NY In COLLABORATION WITH SESAC
Presents A FILM and TELEVISION SONGWRITER SHOWCASE
At The Living Room, 154 Ludlow Street, New York City
On Tuesday, November 15th, The SCL in NY and SESAC will be hosting a SONGWRITER SHOWCASE at the Living Room in New York City featuring CLAIR REILLY ROE (Lemonade Mouth/Disney, Running Russel Simmons, KBC kids);  DAVID DACHINGER (The NFL on CBS, The Masters, ABC College Football, Dateline), ANTHONY ROMAN (Beware The Gonzo, Let Fury Have the Hour, Coca Cola, Microsoft) and KATIE NEIL ( Broadway Kids, The Secret Garden).  The event will be hosted by music supervisor JANICE GINSBERG (Sexy Beast, Teenage paparazzi, New York I Love You) who will offer insights into how songs find their way into television shows, films and commercials. After the performance, there will be an opportunity to meet the performers and spend some time with fellow SCL and SESAC members and others in the NY music community.

MONDAY, DECEMBER 12th, NYC, 7:00pm

SCL NY & NYU Steinhardt Present ADAM GUETTEL - "THE CREATIVE PROCESS."
Moderated by CHRIS HAJIAN.  At the Frederick Loewe Theatre at NYU. FREE for all SCL members & NYU students.  $25 for non-members. Details and RSVP instructions coming soon.
The Society of Composers & Lyricists in NY (SCL/NY), in collaboration with NYU Steinhardt, presents: ADAM GUETTEL - “THE CREATIVE PROCESS.”
Join us on Monday, Dec. 12th at 7:00PM for this very special event featuring one of the brightest and most original composers working in Musical Theatre today. Mr. Guettel composed The Light in the Piazza, for which he won two Tony Awards for Best Score and Best Orchestrations, as well as two Drama Desk  Awards for Best Music and Best Orchestrations.  His earlier works include Floyd Collins, Love's Fire, and Saturn Returns/Myths and Hymns.
Mr. Guettel will discuss his writing process and perform selections from his current projects.  Don’t miss this rare opportunity to get to know the composer whose work Stephen Sondheim referred to as “dazzling”.  SCL/NY steering committee member Chris Hajian will moderate the event.
