New And Now

Apollo RunApollo Run
Apollo Run is a music hall chameleon best known for the passionate energy of their live shows, whether it manifests itself in Jeff Kerestes throwing his body into a bass riff, Graham Fisk's enthusiastic command of the drums, or the pleased smile that spreads over McGrew's face as the last notes of the piano fade. Their sound - a haunting piano, urgent guitars, and John McGrew's tenor, at times both innocent and corrupted - calls to mind Queen, Jeff Buckley and Tom Waits in the same refrain while flirting with indie contemporaries such as Antony and the Johnsons and Beirut. { apollorun.com }

Clair Reilly-RoeClair Reilly-Roe
Canadian singer songwriter Clair Reilly-Roe delivers songs more intimate and inspired than ever. The melodies are sweet and singable and the lyrics are pages falling out of a tattered, well-traveled diary. These story-songs are about changing and letting go, about beginnings, endings, but above all else, the triumph of love. { clairreillyroe.com }

Comic Book HeroesComic Book Heroes
Comic Book Heroes (CBH) are continuing to make a name for themselves in the ever-evolving music industry, standing out amongst today's music acts with undeniable talent and a mature, yet fresh solid rock sound. The band is composed of four high school seniors and long time friends, Collin, Steve, Ned and Koz. Last year, Comic Book Heroes were selected as a Radio Disney "Next Big Thing" artist, in which they placed second place nationally among eleven other artists. CBH's latest EP, Take A Seat, was released in 2008 with their top 15 hit single 'Catch Me if You Can' riding the charts on Radio Disney for months while their music video airs simultaneously on both the Disney XD channel and OnDemand. Comic Book Heroes are currently working on a new release and are planning a tour.  { myspace.com/cbhmusic }

Angel Deradoorian has been a serious musician since the age of 15, when she left high school and began touring with professional bands. At age 20 she joined Dirty Projectors-whom she records and tours with to this day. And at age 22, Angel has finally decided to release her own music on Lovepump United under her last name, Deradoorian. The Mind Raft EP is astonishingly mature, dark, beautiful, and unexpected-if only because seems to have tapped into something far older and wiser than her 22 years would suggest. This is as promising as a debut can get.   { myspace.com/angelderadoorian }

Twenty-four-year-old performance artist Travis Egedy, a.k.a. Pictureplane, obsesses over the cosmos, 90s house music, collective consciousness, and mind-altering chemicals you've never heard of and captured beautifully on his first full-length for Lovepump, Dark Rift. Grimy synths, broken beats, and bucolic vocals collide somewhere between early 90s house music and the gnarly soundscapes to forge a sound that's wholly unique and endlessly exciting.  { myspace.com/lovepumpunited }
