Stars Shine at SESAC Latina Awards
SESAC Latina presented the Latina Music Awards at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.
Songwriters Miguel Angel Romero and Claudia Brant, along with indie publisher Editora de Ideas, were the big winners at the 18th Annual SESAC Latina Music Awards, which took place June 29 at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles.
Romero won Songwriter of the Year for his composition "Dime Que me Quieres" which was recorded by regional Mexican icons Banda el Recodo, the song also won Song Of The Year and helped propel the publisher, Editora de Ideas, to win the Publisher of the Year award.
"Lo Mejor de mi vida eres tú," recorded by Ricky Martin and featuring Natalia Jiménez, won the #1 Billboard Award. The track was penned by Claudia Brant and published under her own Nana Maluca Music.
The SESAC Latina awards are given to the most performed Latin compositions on U.S. radio that were written by SESAC affiliates.
