May 14 2015
It may be the Music Business Association’s (Music Biz) first annual event in Music City USA, but they’ve had decades of experience in shaping the Music Biz convention into the one industry-wide forum known for bringing the commerce community together with all facets of the business.
Music Biz appreciates the serious challenges and wants to illuminate the new opportunities songwriters and publishers face in the digital age. At Music Biz 2015, we are planning for the Songwriters & Publishers Town Hall to be a forum for meaningful conversations that will surface valuable insights about monetization strategies for online video, present updates on copyright legislation, and showcase companies that can help you make sense of your online catalog or license your catalog faster and easier.
Presentations slated are:
● Making the Most of Publishing Deals Through YouTube
● How to Grow Revenue with Music in Online Video
○ With participation from BMI, ole Digital, Harry Fox Agency, Rumblefish, SESAC, and YouTube
● The Mechanics of Publishing at Spotify
● From the Copyright Act to the Songwriters Equity Act, What’s New?
○ Presented by Jacqueline Charlesworth, US Copyright Office
○ Songspace: Online Catalog Management
○ Songtrust: Simplifying Music Publishing Administration
○ SynchTank: Automating The Licensing Process
