Candiria

With their latest release, What Doesn’t Kill You…, Brooklyn-based band Candiria have taken a tragic incident and turned it into a hit record. The band was on tour in 2002 when their van was rear-ended by an 18-wheeler. All survived, but the band was changed forever.

Carley Coma, lead singer and SESAC writer, describes What Doesn’t Kill You… as “our most emotional album ever. We all should have died in that accident. But we didn’t and I think that it is our best work yet.”

As the band’s most lyrically powerful record to date, seasoned fans may not recognize this album as classic Candiria. But they’ve always been known for experimenting with different styles, starting out with death metal and moving to jazz/metal fusion, and this latest effort is no different. Incorporating catchy melodies with Carley’s more than capable singing voice, you see their fearless devotion to recording an album that will represent the lyrical content with unforgettable tunes. Their constant experimentation and never-ending dedication could make Candiria the next big thing in rock/metal music. www.candiriamusic.com/
