Hunter Scott
hunter ScottAn artist at heart, Hunter Scott’s approach to music marketing begins from the ground up. As head of marketing and publicity at LaFaMos, (www.lafamos.com) Hunter’s job is to take on a band with a minimal fan base and bring them to a minimum of 100 paid fans each show. It is achieved by getting them media attention through press reviews, interviews and radio play. Hunter also acknowledges that the artist must make money to survive and works hard to educate independent musicians on the key points of interest an artist with limited time and money should focus on. At LaFaMos, Hunter is also in charge of the LaFaMos Grant Program and the LaFaMos Scholarship for Music Business. “With the music industry changing rapidly, so much lays on the artist’s shoulders,” he explains. “It’s a blessed situation, giving the artist more artistic control than ever before, but it’s also more than any one person can handle.”
